What is Surgiderm?
Surgiderm is a soft tissue implant made of non-animal stabilised cross-linked hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid molecules are derived from biofermentation process and are then cross-linked using proprietary 3D Hyaluronic Acid Matrix Technology. The resulting gel is uniformly and tightly linked with each other for better resistance against degradation and more durable performance.
There are 6 products in this collection which are:
- Surgiderm 18;
- Surgiderm 24XP;
- Surgiderm 30;
- Surgiderm 30XP;
- Surgiderm Surgilips;
- Surgiderm Surgilift Plus.
These aesthetic solutions have varying concentration of hyaluronic acid as well as different viscoelastic properties of filler gel to combat a wide range of skin imperfections—from minor dehydration to severe tissue atrophy.
What is Surgiderm dermal filler used for?
Surgiderm dermal filler works amazingly to moisturise dehydrated skin and correct facial lines of varying degrees of severity. Besides that, facial features like the lips and cheekbones can be expertly sculpted. A complete facial assessment allows the physician to effectively match the best product to address skin imperfections. Once implanted, the skin fillers could provide corrective actions for approximately 6 to 12 months after which they will gradually disintegrate into neighbouring tissues.
What are the side effects?
Most often than not, patients tend to develop localised inflammatory reactions caused by injections.
Common side effects:
These reactions are normal, and patients should recover within a few days. As part of the aftercare methods, patients must keep the injected sites absolutely clean and free from makeup for at least half a day following treatment. In addition, educate your patients to shield the injected sites from places with extreme temperatures such as sauna, tanning beds, and cold rooms.
Severe side effects
In some rare cases (1 in 15,000 cases), some users have reported incidents of rarer reactions.
Rare side effects:
- Necrosis (tissue death)
- Granuloma (inflamed lumps)
- Allergic reaction
It is prudent to thoroughly educate patients on all possible effects to enable quick identification and medical attention of adverse reactions
