What is a Botox brow lift?
A Botox brow lift (sometimes referred to as a non-surgical brow lift) is a medical cosmetic procedure that uses Botox injections to diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles between the brows and elevate the eyebrows on the forehead. A Botox brow lift is a non-surgical procedure that uses Botox, or botulinum toxin A, a neuroblocker that temporarily paralyses muscles. When injected into the underlying muscles of the face that cause lines and wrinkles to form, Botox is able to smooth out these lines, as no muscle movement means no wrinkle. In a Botox brow lift, when the muscles between the brows are relaxed, the untreated forehead muscles are able to pull up the relaxed muscles and skin between the brows, thereby lifting the brows and making the eyes appear wider.
How much does a Botox brow lift cost?
There are typically two different ways that Botox injections are charged: by units of Botox used, or by area treated. As a Botox brow lift will typically require more units than a typical wrinkle treatment, it will cost a bit more than those smaller procedures. If you buy Botox brow lifts, they usually requires between 25–50 units of Botox, totalling around £200, depending on the cost per unit rate of the physician’s office where the procedure is performed.
Is a Botox brow lift effective?
A Botox brow lift is a safe, effective, and quick procedure that has been performed countless times on many satisfied patients. A Botox brow lift can be performed in mere minutes, and while some patients may see results in just a few days, optimal results are usually seen at about one month after injections. The results of a Botox brow lift will usually last around three to four months, though some patients will see results last up to six months. Patients can receive touch up treatments no sooner than three months after the last treatment.
Injection sites
A Botox brow lift requires injection into multiple areas of the upper facial region in order to achieve the desired lifting effects. A dose of approximately 20 units will be injected into the glabellar region (the area between the eyebrows that pulls down when we frown), and approximately 10–15 units alongside each of the eyes in the orbicularis oculi muscle. To safely inject Botox into the necessary injection sites, the administering physician must have experience and knowledge of the anatomy of the face, so it is important that patients always seek out a licensed, reputable medical professional to administer their Botox brow lift.
Side effects
The Botox brow lift is a safe and effective procedure. However, there are still some mild side effects that patients may experience after receiving treatment. Mild side effects such as headaches, soreness, numbness, or mild redness, swelling, or bruising at the site of injection, are all temporary and should resolve themselves without interference within a week. More serious side effects may occur, though they are rare.
