WHAT IS FILORGA PRE PEEL?
It is a pH 4 conditioning solution that is used by medical professionals to assist in the preparation of the skin for patients undergoing a chemical peel procedure. This product is created by Filorga Laboratories and is manufactured in France. When used in combination with a chemical peel product, it can play an important role in offering a non-surgical, non-invasive solution to many superficial skin issues, such as dark spots, fine lines and wrinkles, and dull-looking skin. Filorga Pre Peel solution comes in a 100mL (3.4 fl. oz.) pump dispenser bottle, and should be stored at room temperature away from sunlight.
WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
This pre-peel preparation solution is used on the patient’s skin immediately before a chemical peel is applied in order to cleanse the skin by removing excess oils and help adjust the skin’s pH. This process helps rid the treatment area of impurities and prepare the skin for optimal effectiveness once the chemical peel is applied. Filorga Pre Peel is compatible with the entire line of Filorga chemical peel products, including Filorga Light Peel, which treats fine lines in sensitive skin, Filorga Time Peel, which treats wrinkles, and Filorga Bright Peel, which treats age spots and hyperpigmentation. Filorga Pre Peel may also be used with other chemical peel brands, and is safe to use on all skin types.
HOW DOES FILORGA PRE PEEL WORK?
When applied to the skin, Filorga Pre Peel works by removing makeup, excess oil, and other impurities, thereby cleansing the skin and clearing the pores. With specially selected ingredients, such as gluconolactone, this product simultaneously cleanses and conditions the skin, while also lowering its pH level. Gluconolactone, which is a naturally occurring polyhydroxy acid, or PHA, is the element that balances the skins pH levels while also adding moisture to the skin. In the end, this product provides a clean and purified surface, which then allows the chemical peel to better penetrate the surface to exfoliate dead skin cells and begin the peeling process.
HOW TO APPLY
Filorga Pre Peel should be only applied by a medical professional who is authorized in accordance with local regulations. It should be applied to the patient’s skin immediately before a chemical peel solution, belonging either to the Filorga line or other brands. To apply, you must first squeeze a bit of the solution onto a cotton pad or compress. Next, use the cotton pad or compress to evenly apply the solution to the patient’s entire face or treatment area, paying special care to avoid the eyes and other mucous membranes, including the mouth. The patient’s skin is now ready for the chemical peel solution, which can then be applied as instructed per product. After the chemical peel solution is applied, Filorga Post Peel may also be used.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
A chemical peel solution may be applied to the treatment area directly after the application of Filorga Pre Peel. When used with other peeling products from the Filgora line, the entire duration of a treatment session should most likely last approximately ten minutes. The duration of the effects from the session will vary by chemical peel product used, and by patient. If used in combination with Filorga Light Peel, Filorga Time Peel, or Filorga Bright Peel, the result will typically last on average one to two months. Depending on their patient and their needs, it may be necessary for multiple peeling treatments to be administered every couple of weeks.
IS THIS PRODUCT SAFE?
Filorga Pre Peel is safe and while there are some very mild potential reactions, most patients generally respond well to this product. However, there are a few precautions that should be taken before or during application, including the disclosure of a patient’s medical history and any known allergies. It is also important that Filorga Pre Peel only be administered by licensed medical professionals. This product is for external use only and should not come into contact with mucous membranes or the eyes. If a patient has a history of allergies or hypersensitivities to any of the ingredients, this product should not be used. Patients should also be advised to avoid any UV radiation in the days following the treatment.
SIDE EFFECTS
As with any new product a patient may be exposed to, there are some mild possible side effects. As Filorga Pre Peel is designed to be used in combination with a chemical peel solution, there will also be the intended side effect of peeling skin, as the chemical peeling process relies on removing the superficial layers of the dermis.
While this product has been proven to be safe and can be used on all skin types, there are a few individuals for which this product should not be used. The manufacturer lists a few contraindications, advising that this product should not be used on any patients who are breastfeeding or who are pregnant.
