WHAT IS REVANESSE ULTRA?
Revanesse Ultra is a synthetic hyaluronic acid-based soft tissue filler created to correct deep-set lines and wrinkles. This high-viscosity, biodegradable gel is made of 25mg/mL non-animal hyaluronic acid, supplied in a prefilled 1mL syringe. When you purchase a box of Revanesse Ultra, you will get 2 preloaded syringes, a package leaflet, and disposable needles. This filler is manufactured by Canadian pharmaceutical company Prollenium Medical Technologies and should always be stored in its original packaging.
WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
Revanesse Ultra is a highly viscous gel, which makes it perfect for correcting deep wrinkles like nasolabial folds and marionette lines. It can restore volume in sunken areas, like the cheeks and temples, and can also be used to define contours of the face.
HOW DOES THIS DERMAL FILLER WORK?
Skin damage often occurs as a result of both the intrinsic and extrinsic ageing processes. When biological functions slow down as a result of genetic signals, normal cell renewal and repair slows down as well. As a result, the production of important cellular components diminish. Superficial lines and wrinkles are generally the most apparent signs of ageing, and most commonly appear on mobile regions of the face like the forehead and around the mouth, and some areas may even begin to look sunken and the skin starts to sag. Unfortunately, these skin concerns are only exacerbated by the introduction of free radicals from numerous external sources, such as sun exposure, smoking, poor diet, and even pollution. Free radicals damage the skin at a far quicker rate than repairs can be made, and so wrinkles and sunken areas become even more obvious.
Revanesse Ultra is made of biosynthetic hyaluronic acid particles that are cross-linked using Thixofix Technology. This advanced manufacturing process promotes links between the particles, while broken or dangling links are erased. This allows the gel to maintain a robust mechanical strength and durability even after injection, giving optimal aesthetic results. Despite the gel’s high viscosity, it is also formulated to easily be delivered using fine gauge needles without compromising the integrity of the gel due to its shear-thinning properties. After injection, the gel reverts back to its highly viscous texture. Additionally, the pH and osmolality of the gel are very compatible with human tissues, so the risk of adverse reactions is drastically reduced. Skin issues are easily corrected, resulting in a well-defined and youthful appearance.
HOW TO INJECT IT?
Revanesse Ultra injections are considered a medical procedure and should only be administered by licensed medical professionals. The minimally-invasive injections must be conducted while adhering to stringent aseptic guidelines. Just like with any other medical treatment, the patient’s medical information must be carefully analysed to ensure his or her suitability to receive Revanesse Ultra injections. Prior to injection, clean and sanitise the targeted areas, and then inject the gel slowly via mid to deep dermis injections. After treatment, dispose of the used needles and syringes, as well as any remaining gel. Refer to the package leaflet for more usage directions.
HOW LONG DOES THIS FACIAL FILLER LAST?
Revanesse Ultra is made of monophasic hyaluronic acid, which is known for withstanding degradation for a longer period of time compared to other forms of hyaluronic acid. In addition, Thixofix Technology ensures that the gel is strongly bound together, even with a minimal amount of reticulating agent. The manufacturer, Prollenium Medical Technologies, claims that Revanesse Ultra can deliver smoothing and volumising effects instantly, with results lasting up to approximately 9 to 12 months. However, the duration of the effects will vary on an individual basis.
IS THIS PRODUCT SAFE?
Revanesse Ultra is a very safe and nonpathogenic medical device made of hyaluronic acid. Various quality assurance tests are conducted to ensure its superior quality. Additionally, synthetic hyaluronic acid is biocompatible, as it aims to imitate the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid found in the skin cells. Your patients can feel confident when receiving treatment with this soft-tissue filler; however, there are some contraindications associated with this filler. Patients who exhibit the following criteria should not receive this treatment:
