TEOSYAL® ULTIMATE

Manufactured by Teoxane Laboratories, Teosyal Ultimate is a non-pyrogenic, viscoelastic, transparent, cross-linked hyaluronic acid gel of non-animal origin. This unique dermal filler may be used in a variety of aesthetic treatments, including the volumisation of the facial features, as well as the remodelling of facial contours.

Teosyal Ultimate comes with 1 prefilled 3mL syringe, 2 sterilized 23G” needles, and 2 traceability labels. Each box is highly sensitive, and should thus be stored between 2 and 25°C, and out of direct sunlight. Before use, check the package for any visible signs of damage.

Teosyal Ultimate is indicated for adding volume to facial tissues, especially in the cheeks, chin, jawline, and temples. Additionally, it works to remodel facial contours, offering patients with a naturally reconstructed look.

During the ageing process, the body starts to lose hyaluronic acid, a natural compound that hydrates and volumises the cells through water retention. With this, the facial features may become less defined, leaving the skin looking sallow and wrinkled.

Luckily, the hyaluronic acid present in Teosyal Ultimate works to restore this lost volume by binding to water molecules in the skin. Through the filling of cutaneous depressions, this injectable filler offers patients more voluminous features, as well as hydrated, rejuvenated skin.

Depending on the area to be treated, this filler may be injected at variable depth from the fatty subcutaneous tissue to preperiosteal facial areas. This cosmetic filler is biodegradable, and is gradually resorbed into the skin over time.

A week before injection with Teosyal Ultimate, patients should not consume high-dose vitamin E, aspirin, anti-inflammatories, or anticoagulants. Additionally, they should be advised not to wear makeup to their appointment.

Teosyal Ultimate is implanted into the skin via a subcutaneous or preperiosteal injection. Because of this, it is a medical procedure, and thus provides an inherent risk of infection. As such, it must be carried out in a sterile environment, and on an injection area that has been fully cleansed and disinfected. Only licensed medical practitioners with knowledge of proper injection techniques and facial anatomy may carry out this procedure.

Prior to receiving treatment, patients must disclose their medical history and must be informed of both the outcome and risks of this procedure. Patients may also use a local or regional anaesthetic to reduce pain or discomfort. At this time, the area to be treated must be cleaned with antiseptic solution.

Teosyal Ultimate must be injected using hypodermic 23G” needles, like those found in the package. Based on the injection technique, a round cannula with side holes may also be used.

To begin the injection, push the product slowly into the subcutaneous or preperiosteal areas. Injection techniques may vary according to the area to be treated and the quantity administered. Avoid superficial injection, as this may cause irregular correction.

Once the injection is complete, massage the treated sites carefully to ensure that the filler distributes evenly. If swelling occurs, melted ice may be briefly applied to the site. Do not overcorrect, and do not exceed the contents of 1 syringe per session. Advise the patient to avoid makeup for 12 hours following injection, as well as to avoid extreme temperatures for 1 week following treatment.

At the end of the treatment session, discard any remaining gel and all used needles. This filler is intended for single use only.

While the duration of Teosyal Ultimate’s effects may range from patient to patient, it has generally been observed to last for up to 18 months. While its formula has been cross-linked for added longevity, its durability ultimately depends on the patient’s age, skin type, and lifestyle.

Teosyal Ultimate is a safe treatment based on the natural power of hyaluronic acid. Because it comes from a non-animal origin, there is less risk of allergic reaction, making for increased patient tolerability.

This being said, Teosyal Ultimate may not be appropriate for certain patients. The procedure is not recommended for pregnant women, women who are breastfeeding, or children, as the effects of this injection have not been tested on these groups.

Moreover, patients with inflammation or infection at the injection site; cutaneous disorders; autoimmune disease; sensitivity to hyaluronic acid; or a history of severe allergy or anaphylactic shock should not use this facial filler. It is not to be used in combination with chemical peels and laser treatments, for non-subcutaneous and non-preperiosteal injections, or near sites that have been injected with other fillers.

Although Teosyal Ultimate is generally a well-tolerated product, some injection-related side effects have been known to occur. However, these are usually minimal, and should self-heal within 1 week of treatment. If any rare, serious side effects occur, medical attention should be sought out immediately.
