WHAT IS ZO EXFOLIATING POLISH?
ZO Exfoliating Polish is an anti-aging skin exfoliator that can be used at-home as a skincare treatment. This specially formulated polish contains ultra-fine magnesium crystals that exfoliate the skin, removing dead skin cells and unclogging pores. At the same time, antioxidant components protect the skin from further signs of aging. Manufactured by ZO Skin Health Inc., which was founded by dermatologist and skincare expert Dr. Zein Obagi, it is part of the ZO Skin Health line of products. The line consists of a range of products that provide therapeutic treatments and effective daily skincare that protect the skin from harmful environmental factors. This product comes in one jar of 65g (2.3oz) and should be stored at room temperature, out of the reach of children.
WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
This specially formulated polish gives users a brighter complexion and reduces signs of aging in the skin caused by wrinkles, hyperpigmentation or skin discoloration, sun damage, and other imperfections. By exfoliating dead skin cells and unclogging pores, users will benefit from a more even skin tone while the active ingredients encourage the stimulation of cell turnover. ZO Exfoliating Polish also helps other treatments penetrate more effectively into the skin, making it a great product to add to a skin care routine. This polish is suitable for patients with all skin types and is a great option for individuals looking for a non-surgical, non-invasive solution for signs of aging.
HOW DOES THIS EXFOLIATOR WORK?
While dead skin cells do shed naturally in minute amounts, this process usually goes unnoticed and can lead to a risk of irritation, excess accumulations of oil, and clogged pores that could lead to breakouts when the skin does not shed the cells quickly enough. ZO Exfoliating Polish uses ultra-fine magnesium crystals to exfoliate the skin and remove dead, dull skin cells for glowing skin. As the crystals remove skin cells and unclog pores, they simultaneously help to improve circulation and stimulate the turnover of cells, revealing fresher, healthier skin cells. By removing dead cells to reveal the healthier cells beneath, the look of fine lines, skin discolouration, and other skin problems are all decreased. This polish also contains vitamins A, C, C-ester, and E, which provide antioxidant protection to prevent cellular damage by harmful free radicals. The end result is a smoother, more even-toned and radiant complexion.
HOW TO APPLY
ZO Exfoliating Polish is recommended for at least twice a week in the morning or evening. For optimal results, advise patients to first cleanse their face and moisten the skin with lukewarm water prior to use. A small amount of the polish should then be dabbed onto their face and neck, with the patient then gently massaging the skin in a circular motion. If the skin begins to feel dry, advise patients to add water to the skin. All areas of the face and neck should be covered by the polish, though caution should be observed around the eye area, as getting this product in the eyes may lead to eye irritation. Once the face and neck area have been covered, the individual should then thoroughly rinse the skin, removing all traces of the polish from the skin. Advise patients not to use too much polish at once, as a little will go a long way.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
Using ZO Exfoliating Polish should only take a couple of minutes for skin preparation, application, and rinsing. One jar of this product will last about 6 months if the individual uses the polish the recommended 2 times a week. If patients decide to use it more often, the product will run out sooner—if they use it 3 times a week they can expect the jar to last closer to 3 or 4 months. As this polish is an ongoing treatment, results will last as long as the product continues to be applied.
IS THIS PRODUCT SAFE?
Like all products from ZO Health Inc, ZO Exfoliating Polish uses advanced technology when formulating their ingredients to provide effective and safe products for the treatment of signs of aging and other skin issues. However, this product will not be safe for any individuals with an allergy or hypersensitivity to any of the listed ingredients. Additionally, as the polish contains vitamin A, caution should be used when recommending this product to patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding. As this product is intended for external use only, it should be kept out of the eyes and the eye should be rinsed immediately if there is accidental contact. If the polish is accidentally ingested, poison control, or a doctor should be contacted right away. Patients should also be advised that the use of this product may increase sun sensitivity, and sunscreen should be applied so long as they are using this exfoliator.

There are very few side effects associated with the use of this product and patients generally respond well to its use. If individuals experience persistent effects they should discontinue use and contact their doctor.
