AQUALYX® is an aqueous solution with a microgelatinous base formulated for the purpose of controlling and enhancing the action of external ultrasound waves for the microcavitation of adipose tissue for the medical treatment of lipohypertrophy, subcutaneous liphyperplasia and “buffalo hump” in HIV positive patients, to be used in conjunction with the Sonolyx medical ultrasound wave generator. When injected into adipose tissue using a technique called intra-lipotherapy, AQUALYX® produces an aqueous imbibitions of the tissue permitting ultrasound waves, which are applied externally on the skin, to produce a process of microcavitization in the area where the solution was injected, enhancing the drainage of organic fluids present in the treated tissue. This protocol called, cavitational adipocytolisis, is indicated for the non-surgical treatment of the above cited cases and in particular the superiorlateral region of the thigh, also called “coulotte de cheval”, from the medial thigh area and from the medial zone around the knee and hips.

Aqualyx is a nonsurgical method of body shaping. This gel-based treatment is used to remove unwanted fat. This gel-based solution is injected into areas of unwanted fat. It works by affecting the fat cells’ surface, making them weaker and more permeable. To push out the fats, an ultrasound treatment is used. The body absorbs the fat and excretes it. If the person receiving the treatment does not gain weight, it is permanent.

The doctor will usually inject the area using a local anaesthetic. The treatment may take anywhere from 30-60 minutes, depending on how large the area is.

Aqualyx is a great option for those who live a healthy life and are close to their ideal weight, but are struggling with stubborn areas. Aqualyx treats many areas, including the abdomen, saddlebags (inner thighs), love handles, back, bra folds, and double chins).

This treatment is not for weight loss. It is not recommended for anyone with excessive loose tissue. It is recommended that treatment areas be about the size of your hand palm.

Aqualyx is not suitable if you:

• Have diabetes
• Have liver or kidney disease
• Have active skin problems in the area to be treated
• Are taking blood-thinning medicine e.g. warfarin
• Pregnant/Breast Feeding
• Diabetes with Vascular complications
• Severe Hepatic disease (liver can’t remove toxins from the blood)
• Lowered Immunity
• Obesity- BMI of over 32
• Allergic to any of the ingredients
• Blood Disorders
• Clotting disorders

While the body can regenerate fat cells, it takes a very long time. The results of removing fat cells from a particular area are permanent.
But if you don’t continue to live a healthy life, then your body may gain weight in other areas.

Aqualyx can be used to treat double chin, jowls and upper arms, as well as lower back, hip, knee, chest, hips, ankles, hips, waist, stomach, and inner tights.

The area treated may become red and swollen within a few days. The skin will appear sunburnt for several days.

Aqualyx is a medication that causes inflammation in the fat cells. This can lead to swelling that lasts for about 3-5 days. It is possible to arrange 72 hours of work absence for double chin treatments.

It is recommended that you refrain from doing any physical exercise for at least 3-7 days following treatment, depending on which body part was treated.

Cool packs wrapped in cloths for 20 minutes daily can reduce swelling. It is not recommended to take anti-inflammatory medication (ibuprofen), for 48 hours after treatment. This will make the treatment less effective. The treated area may feel tender or firm for up 4 weeks.
