What is it used for?

Perfectha family of products are created to correct a wide variety of aesthetic concerns by both men and women alike.

  1. Perfectha Complement: Just as the name suggests, this filler is indicated as a complementary treatment for patients who have had other dermal procedures like chemical peels. It hydrates the skin and refines the effects of previous aesthetic procedures.
  2. Perfectha Fine Lines: Due to the amount of gel particles, this dermal filler is ideal for correcting superficial lines like crow’s feet, wrinkles around the mouth and forehead. It lightly smooths out the skin without a risk of overcorrection.
  3. Perfectha Derm: This aesthetic filler in indicated for moderate wrinkles such as creases around the eyes and mouth. It is also suitable for sculpting lips according to your patient’s desired shape and size.
  4. Perfectha Deep: This soft tissue filler is ideal for treating deep-set facial creases such as pronounced nasogenian furrows and marionette lines. In addition, patients unsatisfied with their facial contours can get them sculpted using this filler. Even lip augmentation is suitable.
  5. Perfectha Subskin: This implant is intended for volumising facial areas that have undergone substantial loss of tissues like the cheeks and temples. Besides that, this filler can be used as a non-surgical alternative to rhinoplasty as well as to reshape facial contours such as jawline.

How does this dermal filler work?

The skin structure is made of 3 layers which are epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous layers. At its peak performance, the skin is very elastic and adequately moisturised with very minimal blemishes. However, just like any other organs, skin ages due to genetic signaling. Biological ageing causes a decrease in functionality and quantity of these skin cells. With the combination of external aggressors like chronic solar exposure, smoking, and pollution, skin depressions like wrinkles emerge on highly mobile areas. On the other hand, some patients may experience ageing in terms of facial fat dystrophy. Without correction, patients may end up looking very exhausted.

Perfectha is made of non-animal hyaluronic acid that is cross-linked using E-brid Technology. This advanced manufacturing process creates plenty of strong covalent bonds between the hyaluronic acid molecules. As a result, there is an undetectable level of reticulating agent, 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDDE). Patients who are concerned with the amount of BDDE in dermal fillers can opt for this range of aesthetic fillers. After treatment, the patient’s skin becomes smoother, plumper, and more radiant.

How to inject it?

Aesthetic treatment using Perfectha fillers can only be conducted by legally certified and experienced physicians as they are considered as medical procedure. It is also vital that stringent aseptic techniques are used throughout the procedure to reduce risk of infections. During the preliminary consultation session, you should assess the patient’s medical history to determine their suitability to receive dermal filler injections. If they are deemed suitable, you should discuss about their desired treatment goals as well as precautions, warnings, and maintenance methods following procedures.

Prior to administering the aesthetic filler, please disinfect the proposed corrections areas and assemble the medical device following the illustrations shown on package insert. The injection depth and techniques vary according to the severity of skin condition and type of filler used:

  • Perfectha Complement: Inject the filler into the superficial layer of the dermis.
  • Perfectha Fine Lines: Inject the filler into the superficial layer of the dermis.
  • Perfectha Derm: Inject the filler into mid-dermis layer.
  • Perfectha Deep: Inject the filler into deep-dermis layer.
  • Perfectha Subskin: Inject the filler into the subcutaneous layer of the dermis.

Once you have treated the facial imperfections sufficiently, discard unused gel and used needles. Read the package insert to know more about usage directions.

How long does the injection last?

These fillers are famed for their long-lasting and natural-looking results. According to the manufacturer, Perfectha Complement and Fine Lines can last for about 4 to 6 months, while Perfectha Derm and Deep last longer at approximately 8 to 12 months. Perfectha Subskin is the most durable implant among the filler range, lasting around 12 to 18 months. Nevertheless, the residence time of these fillers vary on an individual basis.

Is this product safe?

Yes, the Perfectha family of products are very safe and have also obtained their CE marking which definitely verifies the superior quality and safety. Hyaluronic acid is a complex carbohydrate molecule found abundantly in the human body. The hydrating molecules in these fillers are synthesized synthetically via bacterial fermentation. They are then extracted and purified to be free from dangerous toxins and proteins. In addition, the innovative E-brid Technology greatly reduces the amount of reticulating agent, which makes this as the perfect choice for patients concerned about BDDE exposure. That being said, some patients should not receive treatment with these fillers due to untested safety profile, including:

  • Patients with allergic/hypersensitivity to the ingredients;
  • Patients who have had previous allergic or anaphylactic attacks;
  • Patients with active inflammation or infections on proposed areas of treatment (e.g. hives, acne, cold sore break outs);
  • Patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding;
  • Children.

 Read the package insert for all contraindications.
