WHAT IS BELOTERO VOLUME?
Belotero Volume is specially formulated to restore facial volume, giving the skin a more youthful, radiant look. Part of the Belotero family, these dermal fillers are made with hyaluronic acid, which is found organically in the body.
Hyaluronic acid fills the spaces between skin cells, acting as a cushion and hydrating connective tissues. Because it can hold up to one thousand times its weight in water, it works to naturally plump the skin, providing a smooth, hydrated finish.
Treatments with this face filler are quick, lasting approximately 30 minutes. What’s more, they provide instantly visible results, seamlessly integrating with the skin to fill and lift the desired areas—with a reduced risk of post-injection lumps and bumps. Plus, this cosmetic filler is biocompatible and biodegradable, making it a safe, body-friendly option that patients can trust.
Belotero Volume’s formula has been optimized with both the practitioner and the patient in mind. This dermal filler is available with lidocaine, which helps to numb and soothe the injection site for added patient comfort. Furthermore, it has excellent modelling capacity, making it especially easy for practitioners to work with.
Each package of Belotero Volume contains two 1ml syringes of sterile, non-pyrogenic, viscoelastic, colorless, transparent cross-linked sodium hyaluronate gel of non-animal origin. It also includes two sterile 30G½” needles and two sterile 27G½” needles, two sterile 27G/37mm cannulas, one instruction leaflet, and four traceability labels. It should be stored between 2°C and 25°C, and protected from light, freezing temperatures, and mechanical shocks.
The product is manufactured by Merz Pharma, a large contributor to the therapeutic and aesthetics markets in Europe and North America.
WHAT IS IT USED FOR?
Belotero Volume is used to naturally restore volume loss in the cheeks, cheekbones, chin, and temples. With its powerful volumizing effects and excellent skin integration capacity, this facial filler is the perfect choice for any patient that desires a natural-looking outcome.
HOW DOES THIS DERMAL FILLER WORK?
Made from hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the body, Belotero Volume’s unique formula instantly binds to water molecules in the dermis. With this, it aims to fill out the skin’s creases, lines, and wrinkles instantly, creating a natural and revitalized look.
What’s more, the product was crafted using an intelligent, well-balanced formula. This filler has excellent malleability, allowing practitioners to model and shape it to achieve the patient’s desired results. Moreover, its high plasticity facilitates easy placement of the gel, while a low ejection force allows for controlled, free application.
HOW TO INJECT?
Belotero Volume may only be injected into healthy, non-inflamed, and disinfected skin. For optimal application, it is recommended to use the needles provided in the package. However, it is possible to use other sterile needles or cannula that may be adapted to the syringe’s luer-lock connection. Here, it is best to use a needle or cannula recommended by Merz with an 18G to 30G diameter.
Before injecting this dermal filler, remove the patient’s makeup and mark the desired points of injection. For Belotero Volume, these are typically located on the cheeks, temples, and chin. Immediately before injection, gently wipe away any markings.
First, pinch the skin to avoid blunting the needle. Then, insert the needle perpendicularly to the skin. Once it has reached the bone, softly and progressively inject the filler into the dermis. When the entire bolus has been injected, gently withdraw the needle and ensure that its contents have been distributed evenly. Due to the fine gauge used, very little bleeding should be experienced.
After treatment, the patient should avoid sun exposure for a week: hyaluronic acid-based fillers may degrade under ultraviolet radiation. What’s more, he or she should not exercise strenuously for 24 hours after treatment, as this may result in more bruising. If pain, swelling, or bruising are present, the patient may apply ice to the affected area and/or take acetaminophen.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
In various clinical studies, the effects of Belotero Volume were shown to last between 9 and 18 months. However, results may vary from patient to patient.
IS THIS PRODUCT SAFE?
Belotero Volume has been extensively tested, and has been approved for use by various regulatory agencies. What’s more, this injectable solution is hypoallergenic, meaning that it does not usually require a skin test prior to use.
This being said, certain contraindications have been noted for Belotero Volume. Those who are pregnant, breastfeeding, under the age of 18, or those who have a general infection should avoid dermal fillers. Moreover, those with hypersensitivity to lidocaine hydrochloride, sodium hyaluronate, or amide-type local anesthetic should not use this cosmetic filler.
To ensure safe injection, do not inject it into blood vessels, the glabellar region, the tear-trough region, or the lips. It should not be used in areas presenting inflammatory or infectious cutaneous problems, such as acne or herpes. Additionally, do not use it for the correction of superficial wrinkles and lines—rather, it should be used in the deep dermis. Finally, do not use this injectable solution in areas that have been previously treated with permanent filler.

WHAT IS IT MADE OF?
Belotero Volume is made from hyaluronic acid, which is naturally produced in the body. Hyaluronic acid has an innate ability to bind and retain water molecules, making it a necessary component in the maintenance of hydrated, bright, and healthy skin.
Unfortunately, as the skin ages, its hyaluronic acid content depletes. This causes loss of elasticity, smoothness, and volume in the face, creating sallow, wrinkled skin. By injecting hyaluronic acid back into the skin—such as that found in Belotero Volume—it appears more youthful and radiant.
What’s more, it is available with lidocaine for improved patient comfort. This anaesthetic is used to treat minor discomfort associated with dermal injections, working to decrease pain by temporarily numbing the affected area.
