Aug 1, 2018

What is Belotero Intense?

It is a product in the hyaluronic acid-based Belotero line of dermal fillers. Belotero Intense and the rest of the Belotero product range are distributed by Merz Pharma Group. The Belotero Intense formula produces a gel that is slightly thicker than other products in the range, but is able to provide very natural-looking results due to balanced elasticity, which is able to provide effective support to the skin. This filler is not only suitable for filling and smoothing the appearance of deep lines and folds around the mouth area, including issues such as severe nasolabial folds, marionette folds, and deep oral commissures, it is also able to enhance the volume and augment the shape of the lips.

How to inject Belotero Intense into the lips

Belotero Intense is able to provide very natural-looking results immediately upon injection. Due to the advanced Cohesive Polydensified Matrix (CPM) technology used to produce the hyaluronic acid, Belotero Intense is able to provide superior results within the first hours and months of injection compared to other products. This is because the technology used creates unique elasticity, and in combination with the gel’s monophasic nature, this makes Belotero Intense very easy to inject using a very small needle. A smaller needles means the patient’s experience will be more comfortable, and to increase comfort, Belotero Intense is also available with lidocaine. This dermal filler should be injected into the deep dermis with a 27G needle, or a cannula may be used on patients with smaller lips.

What should patients know about Belotero Intense

Belotero Intense is a hyaluronic acid-based gel that should not be used on any patients who have displayed a sensitivity to hyaluronic acid. Not only will this filler be able to augment the contour and shape of the lips, but the hydrating quality of hyaluronic acid will also create softer, smoother lips. Effects of treatment will last between six to nine months.
