MEDITOXIN® 100u - Packaging and Ingredients
MEDITOXIN® 100u is supplied as a lyophilized white powder in a colorless transparent vial. It is manufactured by Medytox Inc. and undergoes a freeze-drying process to maintain potency. Each vial contains 100 units of Clostridium botulinum toxin type A complex, 0.5 mg of human serum albumin, and 0.9 mg of sodium chloride.

MEDITOXIN® 100u - Indications
MEDITOXIN® 100u is indicated for the treatment of benign essential blepharospasm in adults (18+), equinus foot deformity in pediatric cerebral palsy patients (2+), glabellar wrinkles in adults (18-65), and upper limb spasticity in stroke patients (20+). Clinical studies indicate that MEDITOXIN® is as effective as OnabotulinumtoxinA.
- Adverse Event Rate: 16.1% for MEDITOXIN®, 27.6% for OnabotulinumtoxinA.
- Common Side Effects: Eyelid ptosis (3.2%), extraocular muscle disorder (0.6%).
- Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to any component, active infection at the injection site.
MEDITOXIN® 100u - Administration Technique and Storage
The product is reconstituted with 0.9% sodium chloride and injected directly into the target muscle. The injection technique varies based on the indication. The recommended storage is in a freezer (below -5°C) or refrigerator (2-8°C) to maintain stability.
