Juvederm Ultra 4 is an advanced 3D hyaluronic acid matrix dermal filler manufactured by Allergan. This face filler contains cross-linked hyaluronic acid with 0.3% lidocaine, a local anesthetic that will provide comfort during and after injection. It comes in the form of a sterile pyrogenic-free solution used as an injectable implant. Use this dermal filler to help smooth out deep wrinkles and facial folds.

Use Juvederm Ultra 4 to help correct deep wrinkles and lines on the face. The thick consistency helps to fill gaps under the skin and provide structure and support for a youthful and revitalized appearance. This amazing formula is recommended for correction of deep depressions on the face, as well as for lip volume.

It is specifically designed to correct the most severe folds and facial wrinkles. It also contains lidocaine, which can relieve discomfort and pain during the procedure.

Juvederm aims to create volume, minimize wrinkles and give skin a smooth appearance. Hyaluronic acid is a sugar found in the the inner layer of the dermis where connective tissue and fat cells reside. Hyaluronic acid is found in the extra cellular matrix, which is a supportive network that provides structure and stability to the skin. Its chemical properties attract moisture to hydrate and maintain optimal skin health.

The body naturally metabolizes hyaluronic acid. As the body ages, it cannot replace the depleted levels fast enough, so the skin gets weaker, and causes wrinkles around the mouth and eyes.

Juvederm helps replace the depleted levels of hyaluronic acid in order to restore the skin’s support and hydration. Skin looks healthier and rejuvenated the instant this sugar is replenished.

Cleanse the patient’s skin before the procedure, and mark the targeted areas. Inject Juvederm Ultra 4 slowly into the targeted areas with a disposable 27G 1/2″ needle. The amount needed depends on the area being treated and the depth of the depression. The consistency of this filler allows you to administer it smoothly and easily. You will not need to administer a separate anesthetic, as there is lidocaine included in the formula. Massage the area after injection to ensure an even distribution, and to help mold the intended shape.

The longevity of the product depend mainly of the patient’s age, lifestyle, and certain environmental factors.

Juvederm Ultra 4 is both a safe and effective treatment used and recommended by many doctors. The hyaluronic base is derived from non-animal sources, so you may not have to do any pretreatment testing. Use this cosmetic filler for patients who have more severe wrinkles and lines.

Do not use Juvederm Ultra 4 if your patient is sensitive to any of the filler’s ingredients; takes any medications that may cause prolonged bleeding; has a history of excessive scarring; has an autoimmune disorder; or has recently had laser treatment or a chemical peel. As well, it is not recommended for use on patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Side effects are very rare with Juvederm Ultra 4. However, it may cause minor side effects, which usually resolve within a few days of treatment.

All of the previously mentioned side effects are mild and temporary, and they subside within a week.
