What is Radiesse dermal filler?

Radiesse is a collection of aesthetic implants designed and manufactured by Merz Aesthetics. The fillers are made of 70% artificial calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres of only 25 to 45 microns in size suspended in a gel carrier. This aqueous gel carrier solution is composed of carboxymethylcellulose, glycerin, and high purity water. There is a total of 4 different variations of Radiesse fillers.

What is it used for?

The calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres are calcium and phosphate ions bonded together. This substance functions as a collagen stimulator once injected into areas of concern. The microspheres promote new collagen synthesis gradually. Over time, calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres disintegrate into the surrounding tissues, but newly-formed collagen fibres maintain skin elasticity and firmness even after the gel is resorbed.
