INTRALINE® TWO

Intraline Two is an aesthetic medical device designed by Bohus BioTech AB that works to correct deep-set wrinkles. It consists of spherically-shaped hyaluronic acid particles that are cross-linked to form a viscoelastic and transparent injectable gel. The resulting hyaluronic acid gel has a potency of 20mg/mL, and is supplied in a single-use 1.0mL glass syringe. A single package of Intraline Two comes with 1 prefilled syringe, 2 disposable 27G needles, 2 patient record labels, and a device manual. Keep this aesthetic device in a controlled storage space with a temperature ranging between 2°C to 25°C. Do not freeze or keep expose to sunlight.

Intraline Two is the best solution for treating deep-set wrinkles and lines (e.g. marionette lines, nasolabial folds, or oral commissures), as well as for augmenting facial tissues. Treatment is done easily via a minimally-invasive injection process.

The skin consists of 3 layers—epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous—which provide various functions, from preventing pyrogen attacks to regulating body temperature. All of these functions are made possible by different cells that work together seamlessly. The skin is distinctly elastic yet firm thanks to numerous collagen fibres. These fibres provide a sturdy framework for other cells to cling to. Hyaluronic acid keeps the fibres and others cells well moisturized to improve their performance. When the skin is healthy, it is elastic and well-hydrated with minimal blemishes. However, ageing slows down the function of these cells. Not only that, external factors like smoking and excessive sun exposure introduce skin-damaging free radicals. So, fine lines and superficial wrinkles develop into more pronounced deep-set skin depressions. Intraline Two is a highly viscoelastic hyaluronic acid gel that fills in these skin depressions. The hyaluronic acid particles are processed via Hyaluronic Acid Spherification Technology to produce smooth and round molecules that can integrate easily into problematic skin areas. Once injected, it effectively fills in wrinkles and restores depressed skin areas for a naturally healthy-looking appearance.

An Intraline Two treatment is a medical procedure and must only be conducted under strict aseptic rules. More importantly, only legally approved proffesionals with vast experience in dermal filler injections are allowed to safely conduct this procedure.

Consultation sessions allow you to obtain as much medical insight as possible regarding your patients. Analysing their health status (e.g. existing medical conditions and any medications and supplements taken) can help you to plan a treatment with the best outcomes for your patients. If they are cleared for getting filler injections, you should explain in detail the possible reactions, both desirable and undesirable effects that they might experience.

Ensure that the dermal device is still within its shelf life and the packaging is not compromised. If you have stored it at a lower temperature, then allow it to equilibrate to room temperature for at least 20 minutes before injecting. Prepare the proposed treatment area by removing any makeup and disinfecting it thoroughly. If necessary, you can apply some pain-relieving cream on the area.

Once the area is ready for treatment, assemble the syringe by attaching the provided needle. Inject the hyaluronic acid gel slowly into the dermis while pulling the needle backwards. Injecting gel too deeply might result in a poor filling action, while injecting too superficially can result in discolouration or lump formation. If you are treating other sites, always replace the used needle with a new, sterile needle beforehand. The maximum recommended amount of gel injected in each treatment site is 2mL.

You can then slowly massage the corrected areas to ensure even gel distribution. Discard any remaining gel, used needles, and syringes according to proper biological waste guidelines. Educate your patients to keep the treated area clean and sans makeup for at least 12 hours following treatment. Also, advise them to avoid strenuous physical activity sessions for a few days. In addition, they must protect the corrected areas from extreme temperatures (e.g. sauna, hammam, sun exposure, cold) until the area is healed.

Intraline Two can provide desirable filling and augmentation effects on the skin for up to a year. The gel is bioresorbable and hence, is absorbed slowly into neighbouring tissues and cells. Patients can opt for another treatment once the intended effects start to wane. The duration of effects alters from patient to patient.

Intraline Two contains hyaluronic acid molecules harvested from the tightly-controlled fermentation of bacterial cultures. The gel is also meticulously purified. So, no allergy-inducing animal proteins or endotoxins are present. Original Hyaluronic Acid Spherification Technology is used to accurately form spherical-shaped molecules that can flow and integrate easily into the problematic skin areas. However, some people are still contraindicated from receiving Intraline Two injections:

• Those allergic/hypersensitive to hyaluronic acid;
• Those with bleeding disorders;
• Those on anticoagulant therapy (e.g. aspirin, warfarin, vitamin E, fish oil);
• Those with dermal disorders (e.g. herpes breakouts, rash, pimple, wounds);
• Those with other permanent implants already administered on proposed area of treatment;
• Those who are still recovering from other aesthetic treatments (e.g. laser, chemical peels);
• Pediatric, pregnant, or breastfeeding patients.

Your patients may develop very mild side effects temporarily on injection sites.

COMMON SIDE EFFECTS:

• Pain
• Redness
• Swelling

These effects typically appear immediately after injections and subside just as quickly. They can last up to 14 days on the lips and half of that period on other areas of the face. Refer to device manual for more possible side effects.
